Traveling on your own is very rewarding. You control your own time, you are your own boss, and you do not have to worry about anyone except yourself. However, some women are stopped from travelling by themselves because they are afraid to do it and simply because going on as a solo female backpacker may have their own risks.
Sure, going solo may have its own odd nervous moments. And it is natural to be afraid. But this should not stop you from traveling on your own. If you are informed well about the location, did enough research and if it is safe enough for women to travel, then by all means do it!
There is no need to stay awake at night worrying since being paranoid can really ruin a good trip. Sure there are enough bad stories to tell, but there are more great adventures out there meant for female travelers.
Meeting other female travelers
When you travel on your own, you will also see that you are not alone in the world. There are so many solo female travelers who are also traversing the world you are heading in. Don’t worry about meeting groups and couples because you are bound to meet some great girl friends from the UK, Australia, Japan, the US and a lot more. You will be staying on touch with them even when you come back home, and you may even decide to return to their place which will make the next trip more interesting.
It is easy to make friends as a solo traveler
Some think that when they travel by themselves, they will not be able to meet people and make friends. On the contrary, you are going to meet more people. Solo travelers are often a lot friendlier and solo female travelers are more approachable than when you are in a group.
